About the Research Centre

In collaboration with CityU, University of Oxford, and Karolinska Institutet, the Hong Kong Centre for Cerebro-cardiovascular Health Engineering (COCHE) was established with the support of the ITC-InnoHK Programme to develop new ways to tackle cardiovascular disease (CVD), which is the world's leading cause of morbidity and mortality.

To address the most pressing health challenges caused by CVD, COCHE focuses on developing innovative technologies such as flexible and wearable devices, biomedical and molecular imaging, nano-biosensing, micro-robotics, healthcare AI systems, and other ground-breaking methods to enable early prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of the disease.

These technologies can reduce human costs while alleviating financial and social burdens on the healthcare system.

Job description:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our team.

As a Full-stack Software Engineer at COCHE, you will play a key role in the development of applications for our cutting-edge medical devices.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create solutions that contribute to the early prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of cardiovascular diseases.

As a member of our team, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and contribute through software design, development, implementation, and operation maintenance.
• Develop high-quality software for mobile and web applications related to medical devices.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Work closely with hardware engineers to integrate software with medical devices effectively.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to continuously improve software development processes.

General Qualification

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software development, preferably in mobile or web applications.
• Experience with mobile app development (iOS/Android) and web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with software development tools and frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Remuneration & Duration of Appointment

The remuneration package will be highly competitive, and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Fringe benefits for full-time appointments include leave and medical insurance, etc.

Initial appointments will be made on a fixed-term contract.

The possibility of re-appointment after the initial contract period will be based on performance evaluation and mutual agreements.
